Hema Vyas is a passionate feminist and Torontonian who co-chairs Women Win TO, an organization dedicated to preparing women from diverse backgrounds to run winning campaigns for the 2018 Toronto municipal election. Long interested in the power of politics for change, Hema ran to represent Ward 18, Davenport as councillor in 2010. She has volunteered on several federal, provincial and municipal election campaigns.
Hema currently serves as a director on the board of Working Women Community Centre. A Credentialed Evaluator, she is a senior policy advisor in government. She has also worked as an evaluation and planning strategies consultant, focusing on quality assurance programs and developing key performance measures.
Hema was an Inaugural DiverseCity Fellow with the Greater Toronto CivicAction Alliance. She has served as a director at CultureLink and on the Ontario Chapter of the Canadian Evaluation Society.
She has a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University, Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto and Master of Science from the University of Guelph.
